The Ephemeral Gardens were created in
2000. Located in the heart of the marshes of Saint-Fraigne,
on the banks of the river Aume, they are
flooded every winter then drained and re-created in the spring with a new cultural adventure.
Every year artists and landscape gardeners take up the challenge and present their own space with a new theme.
Throughout the season the plants grow into floral compositions that invade our senses with their perfume, grasses are like curtains waving in the wind, the environment evolves and the colours change.
In this riverside atmosphere art mingles with nature to please the eye of the visitor. A wonderful adventure for both adults and children to enjoy in this strange world combining nature and culture.
An ideal opportunity to spend quality
time with the family.
For 14 years the Ephemeral Gardens have been uniting artists, sculpters and amateur gardeners around a communal project which attracts more than 3,000 visitors each year between the first weekend of June and the second Sunday of October. These artists and gardeners are asked to imagine and create a garden that can be used and enjoyed.
This year the creators, both professional and semi-professional, were chosen to mix art and nature around the theme :
